Vainqueur de trois médailles d'or lors des Championnats du monde 2007 d'Osaka (100 m, 200 m et relais 4 × 100 m), il détient la troisième meilleure performance de tous les temps sur 100 m derrière le Jamaïcain Usain Bolt, grâce à son temps de 9 s 69 établi le 20 septembre 2009 à Shanghai.
