Petra Kvitová, née le 8 mars 1990 à Bílovec (en) (en Tchécoslovaquie, aujourd'hui République tchèque), est une joueuse de tennis tchèque. Joueuse de fond de court, ses meilleurs coups sont le service et le coup droit. Elle est entraînée par David Kotyza.

Petra Kvitová est née de son père Jiří Kvita, professeur qui l'a initiée au tennis et de sa mère Pavla Kvitová. Elle a deux frères Jiří et Libor respectivement ingénieur et professeur.

Elle a une grande admiration pour Martina Navrátilová, gauchère comme elle. Jusqu'à ses 16 ans, entraînée par son père, elle joue dans sa ville Alizé Cornet...
