Claude Legrand, dit Jean-Claude Dauphin, est un acteur français né le 16 mars 1948 à Boulogne-Billancourt. Il est le fils du comédien Claude Marie Eugène Legrand, dit claude dauphin et de la comédienne Maria Mauban, et le petit-fils du poète Franc-Nohain.

Au lycée Paul-Valéry, à Paris, il est dans la classe du latiniste Bernard Mortureux, spécialiste de Sénèque.

Ses débuts en 1968 dans Adolphe ou l'Âge tendre de Bernard Toublanc-Michel le rendent célèbre.
