Youssef Chahine, de son nom complet Youssef Gabriel Chahine (en arabe), né le 25 janvier 1926 à Alexandrie et mort le 27 juillet 2008 au Caire, est un réalisateur, acteur, scénariste et producteur égyptien de réputation internationale. Il réalisa 40 films et documentaires. Chahine est né dans une famille chrétienne d'Égypte à Alexandrie le 25 janvier 1926. Il commence ses études au collège Saint-Marc puis rejoint Victoria College où il obtient son baccalauréat.
