Ray Liotta est un acteur et producteur de cinéma américain né le 18 décembre 1954 à Newark, dans le New Jersey.

Après avoir étudié la comédie à l'université de Miami, où il devient ami avec l'acteur Steven Bauer, Ray Liotta fait ses débuts à la télévision dans les séries Another world (1983) et Casablanca (id.), avant de faire ses premiers pas au cinéma avec The Lonely Lady (id.). C'est en 1986, sur la recommandation de Melanie Griffith (alors mariée avec Steven Bauer), qu'il joue aux côtés de l'actrice son premier rôle important, celui d'un mari psychopathe, dans Dangereuse sous tous rappo...
