Peter Seamus O'Toole, né le 2 août 1932 dans le Connemara, est un producteur, acteur de théâtre et de cinéma irlandais, considéré comme un « monstre sacré » du théâtre et du cinéma britanniques. Il naît dans le Connemara dans un lieu non précisé, et passe son enfance dans le Kerry en Irlande, puis à Dublin. 1946 : à 14 ans, il commence à travailler comme garçon de bureau puis comme journaliste à Leeds dans le Yorkshire en Angleterre pour le journal Yorkshire News. 1949 : encouragé par un ami comédien, il commence une carrière théâtrale à 17 ans au Théâtre municipal de Leeds. 1950...
