Mary Patricia Plangman, dite Patricia Highsmith, (Fort Worth, Texas, États-Unis, le 19 janvier 1921 - Locarno, Suisse, le 4 février 1995) est une romancière américaine connue pour ses thrillers psychologiques, à partir desquels ont été tirés une douzaine de films. Son premier roman, L'Inconnu du Nord-Express, a été adapté trois fois au cinéma, notamment par Alfred Hitchcock en 1951.
