Calixthe Beyala, née en 1961 à Douala au Cameroun, est une romancière française d’origine camerounaise.

En 1987, elle publie son premier roman, C’est le soleil qui m’a brûlée. En 1994, elle obtient le grand prix littéraire d'Afrique noire pour Maman a un amant ; en 1996, le grand prix du roman de l'Académie française pour Les Honneurs perdus et en 1998, le grand prix de l’Unicef pour La Petite Fille du réverbère.
