Marcel Cerdan (dit Le Bombardier marocain) était un champion de boxe français, de 1m 72 pour 73 kg, né à Sidi-Bel-Abbès (Algérie) le 22 juillet 1916, et décédé le 28 octobre 1949. En 1922, sa famille s'installe à Casablanca (Maroc) et le jeune Marcel commence la boxe à l'âge de 8 ans. À 18 ans, il dispute son premier combat professionnel à Meknès. Signalons un bref passage par le ballon rond, car Cerdan fut aussi un champion de football méconnu, en Afrique du Nord en 1942, en compagnie de Larbi Ben Barek.
