Son nom complet est Abdallah ben Abdelaziz ben Abderrahman ben Fayçal ben Turki ben Abdallah ben Mohammed ben Saoud. Membre de la dynastie al-Saoud, fils du roi Abdelaziz ben Abderrahman al-Saoud dit Ibn Saoud, fondateur de l'Arabie saoudite moderne, et de Fahda bint Assi Al Churaym.
