Patrice Leconte est un réalisateur, acteur, scénariste et auteur de bande dessinée français.

Né le 12 novembre 1947 à Paris, il passe son enfance à Tours, tournant dès 15 ans des petits films d'amateur. Il monte à Paris en 1967 pour suivre le cours Littré, puis entre à l'IDHEC. Il participe aux Cahiers du Cinéma et se lance avec plus ou moins de bonheur dans le court-métrage. Parallèlement, il contribue au journal Pilote de 1970 à 1974, produisant des planches d'une grande originalité et réalise de nombreux films publicitaires.
