Pat Benatar, de son vrai nom Patricia Andrzejewski est née le 10 janvier 1953 à New York, d'un père contremaître et d'une mère esthéticienne.

Elle entre à la Julliard High School of Music ou elle suit des cours de chant lyrique.

De son mariage avec Dennis Benatar au début des années 70 il ne lui reste que le nom. Ils se séparent en 1975 et Pat s'oriente vers une carrière de chanteuse.

Une audition dans un club de New-York lui ouvre les portes d'une maison de disque pour qui elle enregistre en 1979 son premier album "In The Heat Of The Night" dont le single "Heartbreaker" sera le fe...
