Marie Laforêt, de son vrai nom Maïtena Marie Brigitte Douménach, née le 5 octobre 1939 à Soulac-sur-Mer (Gironde), est une chanteuse et actrice française. Depuis 1978, elle vit à Genève et possède aussi la nationalité suisse.

Son premier prénom, Maïtena, d'origine basque, ayant la signification d'« aimée », est donné parfois par des habitants du Languedoc, surtout des Pyrénées, et ressemble au diminutif local de Marie-Thérèse, Maïthé. Le nom de famille de son père, Douménach, est d'origine catalane (correspondant à Domenech en catalan).
