Isao Tomita, né le 22 avril 1932 à Tōkyō et mort le 5 mai 2016 à Tokyo également, était un compositeur de musique électronique renommé. Il est connu pour avoir composé entre autres le thème du Roi Léo, qu’il composa pour l’adaptation animée du manga d’Osamu Tezuka. Il est le premier musicien japonais à avoir été nommé aux célèbres Grammy Awards. Isao Tomita est l'un des pionniers du synthétiseur au Japon, et a composé les musiques d’oeuvres aussi diverses que Princesse Saphir, Dororo ou Sinbad no Bôken.
