George Gershwin (* 26 septembre 1898 à Brooklyn, New York – 11 juillet 1937 à Hollywood) était un compositeur américain, né Jacob Gershowitz à Brooklyn, New York de parents juifs immigrants russes. George Gershwin composa la plupart de ses œuvres avec son frère Ira Gershwin, parolier. Gershwin composa à la fois pour Broadway et le théâtre de concert classique, et sa musique contient des éléments provenant des deux univers. Il connut également beaucoup de succès dans l'écriture de chansons populaires. Parmi ses compositions, beaucoup ont été employées au cinéma, et bien d'autres sont devenue...
