Fille d'Antoine Coesens (acteur), petite sœur de Marie Coesens et Antoine Coesens (danseur), Dounia a grandi à Aix et vit maintenant sur Marseille pour les besoins du tournage de la série "Plus belle la vie" dont elle tient l'un des rôles principaux.

Le 13 février 2008, le public l'a élue Jeune Comédienne de l'année lors de la cérémonie des Jeunes Talents.
