Stephanie Louise Kwolek , née le 31 juillet 1923 à New Kensington, Pennsylvanie, et morte le 18 juin 2014 à Wilmington, Delaware, est une chimiste américaine qui a inventé le poly-paraphénylène téréphtalamide, mieux connu sous le nom de Kevlar. Kwolek a gagné de nombreux prix pour son travail en chimie des polymères. Stephanie L. Kwolek, fille d'immigrants polonais, est née à une trentaine de kilomètres de Pittsburgh, à New Kensington (en), Pennsylvanie, en 1923.
