Née d'un père marocain et d'une mère tunisienne, Larusso est la cousine germaine de l'animateur Jacques Essebag, dit Arthur. Laetitia Larusso commence sa carrière à l’âge de 18 ans, en sortant début 1998 son premier single, Je survivrai, adaptation française de I Will Survive, de Gloria Gaynor, chantée par Régine dans les années 1980 ; cette reprise connait un certain succès, manquant de très peu le Top 50 français (51e).
