Carlo Ponti est un producteur franco-italien, né le 11 décembre 1912 à Magenta (Italie), et décédé le 10 janvier 2007 à Genève (Suisse). Il a obtenu la nationalité française en 1966. Il a étudié le droit à l'université de Milan. Depuis 1941, il a produit plus de 140 films, dont des films réalisés par Federico Fellini (La Strada, 1954), Vittorio de Sica (Boccaccio '70, 1962), David Lean (Doctor Jivago, 1965), et Michelangelo Antonioni (Blow-Up, 1966).
