Sir Anthony Hopkins KBE (de son nom complet Philip Anthony Hopkins) est un acteur britannique naturalisé américain, né le 31 décembre 1937 à Margam, (près de Port Talbot) au Pays de Galles.

Fils unique, le grand public le connaît surtout pour son interprétation du médecin philanthrope, le Dr Treves, dans Elephant Man réalisé par David Lynch et du psychiatre cannibale Hannibal Lecter dans les trois films Le Silence des agneaux (1991), qui lui a valu l'Oscar du meilleur acteur, Hannibal (2001) et Dragon rouge (2002).
