Alexandre Issaïevitch Soljenitsyne (11 décembre 1918, Kislovodsk – 3 août 2008, Moscou) est un romancier et dissident russe, auteur notamment de Une journée d'Ivan Denissovitch et de L'Archipel du Goulag. La mère d'Alexandre, Taisia Chtcherbak, d'origine ukrainienne, partit étudier à Moscou où elle rencontra un jeune officier de l'armée, Isaakiy Soljenitsyne. En 1918, Taisia est enceinte d'Alexandre. Peu après l'annonce de la grossesse de sa compagne, Isaakiy meurt dans un accident de chasse. Alexandre naît à Kislovodsk, une station thermale russe du kraï de Stavropol dans le nord du Caucas...
