Tim Burton (né Timothy William Burton) est un réalisateur, scénariste et producteur américain né le 25 août 1958 à Burbank en Californie. Maître du fantastique fortement influencé par Edgar Allan Poe, excellent conteur et graphiste d'exception, on lui doit notamment Pee-Wee Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward aux mains d’argent, Charlie et la Chocolaterie et Sweeney Todd : Le Diabolique Barbier de Fleet Street. Il a également rédigé les scénarios de L'Étrange Noël de monsieur Jack et des Noces funèbres, deux films d’animation réalisés avec des marionnettes évoluant dans des décors réels...
