Robert Mitchum, de son vrai nom Robert Charles Durman Mitchum, était un acteur et chanteur américain né le 6 août 1917 à Bridgeport, Connecticut et décédé le 1er juillet 1997 à Santa Barbara, Californie d'un cancer du poumon. Il a commencé en étant sous contrat avec la RKO. R. Mitchum a sorti sous son nom un disque de chansons calypso Calypso is like so où il reprend notamment la célèbre Matilda déja chantée par Harry Belafonte.
