Steven Paul Smith (6 août 1969, Omaha - 21 octobre 2003, Los Angeles), plus connu sous le nom d'Elliott Smith, est un auteur-compositeur-interprète américain. Après avoir joué dans le groupe Heatmiser pendant plusieurs années, il entame une carrière solo en 1994. Il est révélé au grand public grâce à sa chanson Miss Misery écrite pour le film Will Hunting, et nommée en 1998 aux Oscar du cinéma dans la catégorie « Meilleure chanson originale ».
