Aaron Michael Paul quitte son Idaho natal à 17 ans pour rejoindre Los Angeles. Il débute en apparaissant dans des publicités et des clips musicaux, puis il enchaîne des rôles secondaires dans de nombreuses séries.

En 2007, il intègre la série Big Love pour incarner un personnage récurrent, Scott Quittman.
